About Us
Lilanne Smith is founder, partner and executive chef of Jubilee Plantation. She and her husband and co-founder, Perry, are proud parents of a four year old daughter and a one year old son. She comes on board with 25 years of food service experience, including numerous restaurants from fast food to sit down. One of the highlights of her career was spent in the garde manger, pantry and bakery departments of the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tn. Lil is also credited with three years ownership and operation of Sweet Expressions Catering, which has served groups of between 20-400 people. Lil is a gourmet chef and prize winning cake decorator with a flair for dramatic creativity. She has attended numerous seminars focusing on leadership training and personal resource skills to maximize her professionalism in dealing with her staff as well as clients. Lil also showcases her planning and organizational abilities at her church, of 2,000 members; it being the second largest in Clarksville. A member for 15 years, she has served as Children's Director, of grades K - 5th, for the past five years. Her duties in this capacity have included organizing and directing church and community wide events, such as Easter egg hunts, family day and Fall Festivals with attendance of 2,000 or more. Her skills have also been used with the local Red Cross in community placement of incoming hurricane Katrina refugees and in past service with the Urban Ministries' Loaves And Fishes homeless shelter and soup kitchen.
Perry Smith has been happily married to Lil Smith for 23 years and is a co-founder of Jubilee Plantation. He has extensive knowledge and experience in computer technology, electronics, video production and graphic design. Perry also has training in videography, video editing, sound and lighting. He has put these skills to work for the past five years in the television and media ministry of their church of which he has been a member for 15 years.
Aamie Scott is an excellent customer service representative and promoter of the amenities of Jubilee Plantation. She is the mother of two teenage boys and also an excellent Southern cook in her own right. She has worked with Lil doing both casual and upscale events for the last four years. Aamie learned her cooking skills at the knees of her mother and grandmothers. Aamie started cooking at age 4 and never slowed down. Involved in banquets and fundraisers for 200-500 for schools, churches, and charities, Aamie has 20 years experience in cooking and serving for large groups. Also, Aamie has made pies, cakes and cookies to sell at a large company in Tennessee for the last two years.
Barbara Wrenn, a former math teacher, is the most obvious choice to handle the day to day accounting and office needs of Jubilee Plantation while also participating in culinary events. Barbara who has been married to Paul for 38 wonderful years is the mother of four, one of whom is Aamie Scott. Barbara is a graduate of Austin Peay State University and taught high school math and history at Bible Baptist Academy (BBA) for 20 years. While teaching at BBA she was in charge of Special Events planning. She, therefore, gained experience in preparing, overseeing, and serving copious culinary events. She has been involved in planning and executing charity, school, and church dinners for 200-500 people. She is well able to be of value in the office as well as for culinary events.
